Lately, I have noticed the words “Oh, I’m sorry” spill from my mouth more and more frequently. Perhaps it’s because I come from Minnesota, infamous for being close relatives with Canada and staggeringly polite.

Or maybe it’s because nearly any offhanded comment I make is met with glares and “You really shouldn’t say that, it’s offensive.”

It’s possible I may have several distasteful opinions, but I find it more likely that we as a generation are overly sensitive and retaliate needlessly.
